To travel from the sea to Cambridge by any means necessary (as long as it's human powered)
On Friday 1st October we are going to travel under our own steam from Cambridge to the sea (Kings Lynn) so we can raise as much money as possible for charity - DONATE HERE
When? October 1st & 2nd 2021 (reserve date 15th & 16th October)
For the eagle eyed among you we originally were going to do this uphill (i.e. from Kings Lynn to Cambridge) but with the weather as it is, we have had a last minute switch of direction as battling currents, tides and winds was a step to far! Already the weather doesn't look fab, but hopefully just about doable.
Who are we?
We are mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and friends. We are also teachers, entrepreneurs, scientists, a doctor, personal trainer, PR and diversity professional, childminder, ex-Blue Peter presenter, consultants. We are straight and LGBTQ, married and not, and from a variety of backgrounds.
But more than that we are all troubled by the lack of inclusive leadership in the world. We are coming together to help charities that address basic needs as we see these as the first steps to lifting people out of survival mode and into society. We are focusing on women as women’s equality has drifted backwards during covid-19.
We have selected two charities, one local and one more global. We will split the money we raise between the two:
